| | WELCOME TO THE GOLDSTREAM STATION MARKET 2012 Market Season Starts Saturday May 26th! Farmers are planting their vegetable seeds, crafters are busy preparing new items, and food vendors are busy perfecting recipes for you to try. | | | We are located on Bryn Maur Road in the heart of downtown Langford. Our goal is to support and promote a sustainable and vibrant local agricultural industry and artisan community by providing an outlet for the sale of locally-grown and locally-processed agricultural products and artisan crafts. The Market also provides the opportunity for local musicians and entertainers to perform and local non-profit groups to tell their community story. · All produce is local and grown for taste, not ability to survive shipping. Most produce is picked in the morning, just prior to the market - you can’t get any fresher! · Do you want to know who grows or makes your food? Come to the market and talk to the farmers - learn how they farm, what they grow, how to eat with the seasons, and new varieties to try. · Everything is home-grown or home-made from the West Shore or our neighboring communities. · Unique hand-made crafts made by local artisans for that special wedding, birthday, shower or Christmas gift (or perhaps something for yourself?) Come and be a part of our West Shore community! |
Plan on coming early and spend some time browsing the great selection of produce, crafts, and food. The market is held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during market season. Want to know who's entertaining or special events at the market? Click on CALENDAR. Got a band looking for a country gig? We’re also interested in hearing from choirs, dancers and other performance artists. And people like to watch people (and other critters) do things - throwing pots, weaving, for example - so if you have an idea for an activity you'd like to see at the market, then click on ENTERTAINER INFO on the sidebar menu. We also offer free space for community groups to come to the market. If you are interested in telling the community about who are and what you do, visit the COMMUNITY GROUPS page. Interested in volunteering or want to learn more about who's running the market, then come along and find out ABOUT US. | Are you interested in being a vendor at the market? Click on the VENDOR INFO on the sidebar, and you'll find information on being a vendor - for growers, crafters and food processors - including the vendor application form and our rules & regulations. The daily stall fee is $15. Please call ahead to reserve your space for market day. |
§ Market Recipes: ever wonder what to do with all the great produce you find at the Market? We will be collecting tasty and easy recipes from farmers and customers to share with you.
